Prior to the March 11 election, Bode George, a senior official and leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), said that there were plans to assassinate Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, the Labour Party’s candidate for governor of Lagos State. At a news conference on March 6 in Lagos, George made the discovery.
He mentioned the unexplained death of Funsho Williams, a previous candidate for governor, who was shot at his Ikoyi home before the 2007 elections. George claimed to have discovered the evil scheme to prevent the terrible history from being repeated along with a group called Omo Eko Pataki.
Nigerians should be aware of who to hold if something were to happen to the energetic, true Lagosian, he cautioned since the Labour Party prevailed in the recent presidential election. Although Bola Tinubu has political clout in Lagos State, the ruling All Progressives Congress is concerned about his rising popularity (APC).
