Rufai Oseni, a well-known Nigerian journalist, has mocked  the Nigeria Broadcast Commission (NBC) for  “double standard.”

In a tweet on his Twitter account on Thursday, Oseni claimed that the NBC has yet to make a comment on the Nigeria Television Authority’s (NTA) involvement in the unlawful release of the results of the Adamawa gubernatorial election.

He alleged double standard and questioned why the television regulating agency had not yet imposed any sanctions.

Recall that on Sunday, Binani was declared the winner of the State election unlawfully by Hudu Yunusa, the REC for Adamawa State.

The NTA, a media outlet run by the government, reported on the unlawful announcement.

The electoral commission, however quickly rejected the alleged announcement and put the counting of the supplemental election results on hold.

Oseni asserted that the NBC would have censure the station the following day if it had been a different station.

The NTA issue, assuming it included another station, has not yet received a statement from NBC, the author said. They would have approved such a station the next day. Two sets of rules!”
