Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, a former vice president, applauded Umaru Fintiri’s re-election as the governor of Adamawa State and hailed it as a victory for democracy.
An employee of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had previously declared Aisha ‘Binani’ Dahiru, a candidate for the All Progressives Congress (APC), the winner before the compilation of results for the supplementary election had concluded. The Commission subsequently invalidated the official’s declaration.
The peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Fintiri, was proclaimed the victor of the tumultuous election on Tuesday, defeating his closest competitor, “Binani,” as previously reported that INEC continued the end of the rescheduled collation.
Atiku, the PDP presidential contender for the 2023 elections, stated shortly after the announcement that the victory demonstrated the superiority of good over evil.
Congratulations, Fintiri, for being re-elected as the governor of Adamawa State. The Adamawa-born former vice president tweeted, “Thank you to the people of Adamawa and men and women of good will for persevering in stopping coupists and opponents of democracy from getting their way.
The need for Nigerians to remain watchful and never give in to anti-democratic forces whose goal it is to steal, run with, and undermine the people’s mandate as freely expressed in their ballots is the lesson to be learned from this exercise and others, according to the report.
Following Fintiri’s triumph, Atiku is certain he would prevail before the presidential election tribunal where he is contesting the election of Bola Tinubu as Nigeria’s president.
By the way, it’s still not uhuru since we have one more important task to complete. For the benefit of our nation and its citizens, we have our mandate to recapture, and working as ONE, we will complete the mission.
