Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke praised President Muhammadu Buhari for remaining impartial during the state’s gubernatorial election, in which Adeleke defeated outgoing Governor Gboyega Oyetola.

When Adeleke visited Buhari at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Friday, he expressed his thanks to the president and praised him for not interfering with the election or the results.

After the meeting with the President, Adeleke told State House reporters that he had benefited from Buhari’s stated support for free and fair elections.

“I recently seen our President, and I’m delighted to say that he looks so well and good. Since I was elected, I’ve felt like i should visit the President to say hello and thank him for approving the Electoral Act because it helped me.

“That opened the door for free and fair elections, and the world community applauds Nigeria for being prepared for democracy.

I’m here today to see him, thank him, and wish him well for the remainder of his term in office, Adeleke added.
