EPL: Man City thrash Arsenal 3-1 to go top of the table


Reigning champions, Manchester City usurped Arsenal to go top of the Premier League table after a comfortable victory in a thrilling encounter at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday night.

Kevin De Bruyne put the visitors in front in the 24th minute off Takehiro Tomiyasu’s blunder. The Arsenal defender’s backpass was met by De Bruyne who strike past Ramsdale.

Bukayo Saka restored parity for the hosts from the spot three minutes to the halftime mark after Ederson fouled Eddie Nketiah.

Jack Grealish restored City’s lead in the 72nd minute off another defensive blunder by Arsenal.

With just 8 minutes left, Erling Haaland ended his three-match goal drought to extend the visitors’ advantage after he was set up by De Bruyne.

With the win, Man City is now top of the Premier League table on goal difference with 51 points with Arsenal.
