Ahead of Saturday’s presidential election in the nation, President Muhammadu Buhari has arrived in Katsina State before continuing on to his rural home in Daura.
On Thursday at precisely 4:40 p.m., the presidential jet carrying the president and members of his entourage touched down at Umaru Musa Yar Adua Airport in Katsina.
Buhari would cast his ballot in Daura after being welcomed at the airport by the governor of Kastina State, Aminu Masari, as well as other state and federal government officials.
The president called a Security Council meeting on Thursday before departing for Katsina. There, he met with the heads of the security services to inform them of the importance of protecting Nigerians and ensuring free and transparent elections.He also met with Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), and received assurances that the commission was prepared to hold free and fair general elections on March 11 and Saturday.
