Gift Okpomini, 34, was docked in an Ikorodu Magistrates’ Court in Lagos State on Thursday for allegedly posting obscene materials on a couple on Tiktok.
Okpomini, whose address was not given, was charged with three counts of conduct likely to cause a breach of trust, sending dangerous or obscene things by post, and theft.
The defendant, on the other hand, pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Insp Adegeshin Famuyiwa, told the court that the defendant committed the crime on November 8 at around 1:29 p.m. at No 4, Erubami str, in Igbogbo area of Ikorodu Lagos.
Famuyiwa stated that the defendant acted in a way that was likely to cause a breach of peace by posting pictures of Mr and Mrs Okaweze Osbert on Tiktok Nigeria and tagging them as criminals, thief, and wanted with the knowledge that it was false
The prosecutor also stated that between August 1 and August 8, at Ogunlewe str, the defendant converted N67,000 from Gab lotto and sold N5,195 from Wesco lotto.
He claimed that the offence violated sections 259(b), 168(d), and 287(7) of the Lagos State Criminal Law, 2015.
Mr A.O Ogbe, the Magistrate, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N50,000 with a surety in the same amount and a verifiable address.
He postponed the case until December 8 for further consideration.
