The All Progressives Congress (APC) national leader, Abdullahi Adamu, was spotted meeting with the party’s governors, also known as progressive governors. The APC chairman met with the party’s governors ahead of the Saturday, March 11, governorship and state house of assembly elections, according to a tweet posted by The Punch on its Twitter page on Tuesday, March 7. Several members of the national working committee attended the meeting, which was held in the APC’s national secretariat.

The APC won the election with 8,794,726 votes, but the party only took 12 of the 36 states, including the Federal Capital Territory. The majority of politically and economically powerful states were lost to the opposition, including Lagos State, where the president-elect is from, which was defeated in the election by the Labour Party. The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) also defeated the APC in Kano, and the Peoples Democratic Party triumphed over it in Kaduna and Katsina (PDP).
