The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) received some results from the state’s governorship poll on March 18 that Uba Sani, the newly elected governor of Kaduna, says he will contest.

The governor-elect said in an interview with BBC Hausa that the PDP won some LGAs by “unimaginable margins.”

Isa Ashiru of the PDP received 719,196 votes, but Sani of the All Progressives Congress (APC) received 730,002 votes to win the election.

his victory margin was greater than what the Independent National Electoral Commission reported (INEC).

The governor-elect claimed his administration would be “fair” to everyone, including those who did not vote for him, while extending an olive branch to the opposition parties.

He expressed his satisfaction with the election’s voter participation.

The PDP has vowed to contest the governor-elect’s victory at the election petition tribunal, but the governor-elect voiced confidence that he will be “victorious” there.

In the state, the PDP candidate won 13 LGAs, while Sani won 10 LGAs.

He claimed there were numerous irregularities in the LGAs where the PDP won.

Sani announced he would appeal the PDP’s election results to the electoral petition tribunal.
