The International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) has initiated an extensive training program for the staff of Benue Investment and Property Company Limited (BIPC), focusing on various international standardisation processes. Kelvin Acka, principal consultant of ISO, outlined that the training encompasses market-driven strategies, investment procedures, fire safety, procurement processes, promotion, marketing, store management, and business administration.
Acka emphasized the manifold benefits of ISO training, including adherence to international best practices, fostering a market-driven approach, aiding leadership requirements, aligning processes with strategic direction, and encouraging active participation from the company.
Highlighting previous certifications, Acka mentioned reputable organizations like Nigeria Electricity Management Services Agency (NEMSA) and the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) that have undergone ISO certification.
In response, Dr. Raymond Asemakaha, Managing Director of BIPC, expressed enthusiasm for the proposed ISO training and reiterated his commitment to continuously train and retrain the company’s workforce. He emphasized that with the right training and alignment with ISO principles, BIPC can significantly improve its market relevance and operational efficiency in the long term.
