In a historic ceremony held on Saturday, Governor Usman Ododo of Kogi State officially assumed office, taking the oath of office in the state capital, Lokoja. Following this momentous occasion, Governor Ododo wasted no time in unveiling his list of 16 commissioner nominees, which he promptly submitted to the Kogi State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation.
“I will today be presenting the names of the following nominees to the Kogi State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation as members of the Kogi State Executive Council,” Governor Ododo declared during the inauguration ceremony.
Notably, several of the nominees are individuals who previously served as commissioners in the administration of the immediate past governor, Yahaya Bello. The list includes Farouk Danlami, Salami Ozigi-Deedat, Basiru Abubakar, Adams Abdulaziz, Joseph Oluwaseun, Muzi Yinusa Abdullahi, Wemi Jonze, Rabiatu Okute, Fanwo Kingsley, Fatima Momoh, Mohammed Yusuf, Timothy Ojoma, Sunday Faleke, Abanika Taye, Asiwaju Idris Asiru, and Mohammed Adbulmutalib.
Governor Ododo urged the Kogi State Assembly to conduct a speedy consideration of the nominees, emphasizing the need for a swift and efficient process to ensure the timely constitution of his executive team.
In addition to the commissioner nominees, Governor Ododo announced the appointments of key officials who will play pivotal roles in his administration. The newly appointed officials are as follows:

– Ali Bello:Chief of Staff to the Governor.
-Hilary Ojoma:Deputy Chief of Staff.
-Elijah Evinemi:Head of Service.
-Jerry Omodara:State Security Adviser.
-Isah Ismail Special Adviser on Media.
-Sulaiman Ibrahim Director-General Protocol.
-Oladele John Niyi Chief Press Secretary.
-Shaibu Orisa Director-General Government House.
-Femi Adegboyega State Legal Adviser.
